Leaving
Your website passes through Blackwall because its DNS says so. Putting the DNS back takes it out again. Nothing is installed on your site, so there is nothing to uninstall.
Find the records that were there before
Blackwall kept them when you went live. They are in the app under Firewall settings, in "Leaving Blackwall". Your host or your web person will have them too.
Put them back where your domain is managed
Change the records for your website's name back to those values. Your site then answers directly, as it did before.
If you locked your server, unlock it
A server that only answers Blackwall will refuse your visitors once they stop coming through it. Remove the header rule, or the firewall rule, at the same moment as the DNS change.
Remove the website, or the product
Once your DNS has moved, Blackwall notices and lets you remove the website. Removing Blackwall from your account is on the Products page in Settings.
Questions
- I need the firewall out of the way right now.
- Switch to pass-through in Firewall settings. Every request reaches your site and nothing is inspected, within seconds. Your DNS can be changed afterwards, in your own time.
- What if I stop paying before I move my DNS?
- Your site is not taken down. It is passed through uninspected for 14 days, and you are told the date. After that Blackwall stops answering for it, so move your DNS before then.
- What happens to my data?
- Stopped requests are kept for 30 days whether you stay or go. You can download them, and the hourly counts, as spreadsheets from Settings at any time.
- Can I come back?
- Yes. Add the website again and go through the steps. If the proof is still in place, the first step is already done.
