Acceptable use
These rules apply to STRATIC Sentinel, in addition to the terms of service.
- Only your own websites
- You may add a website to Sentinel only if you own it, or you are responsible for it and are allowed to have it checked. When you add one you confirm this.
- Proof is required and stays required
- No check runs until a code unique to your account is found on the website or its domain. The code is looked for again before every check. Do not place a code on a site you are not allowed to change.
- No working around the rules
- Do not try to make the service contact an address it has refused, such as a private network, or to check a site by pointing another name at it.
- Results are for fixing
- What a check finds about a website is for its owner and the people who maintain it. Share links are for them. Do not use findings to harm the site or anyone else.
- We keep a record
- For every check we record who asked for it, from where, and every address it contacted. We use this to investigate reports of misuse.
- What happens if these are broken
- We may stop checks, switch off share links and close the account.
